Shebnem (Sheb) Ince/Founder

In January of 2013, after several years of inactivity and poor eating, I found myself staring down at a barbell for the very first time in my life. I had decided that I needed to change the course of my physical life. I was in a high stress role in the food and wine industry, suffering from depression and very out of shape. I worked with a personal trainer, ugly cried often, and experienced a lot of discomfort, both mentally and physically.

I started to feel better. A LOT better. However, despite the positive role exercise was playing in my life, I remained parked at a weight and body composition that did not reflect how I felt on the inside. I was trying, like most, all sorts of diets and new trends: 30 day detoxes, paleo, clean eating, calorie restriction, low carb, even packing my food into tiny, colored plastic boxes (questioning my sanity the entire time).

In September of 2016, I was introduced to the concept of macronutrient tracking. With the help of a nutrition coach, I learned that I had been chronically under eating, and not giving my body the kind of fuel it needed. Within 6 months I had cut nearly 28 pounds, and had profoundly disrupted my old and dysfunctional relationship with food. I was so completely changed by the process that I became certified through Precision Nutrition (Pn1) as a nutrition coach, so I could help others with what I felt was a transformative experience. I now feel happy and physically able on a daily basis, in a way that I never have before. At 50 years of age, I began competitive powerlifting and currently hold the Illinois State Records for SBD and total, for USPA masters 50-54 age group.

With my personal experience and my Pn1 certification, I have the honor of helping guide others through this process. Being alongside my clients for the big and small wins of recreating their mindset and relationship with food is beyond rewarding. This approach has undoubtedly changed my life in ways that I had only dreamed of.  They were possible for me, and they are possible for you.

Cody King/Coach

Cody Grew up in northwest Ohio, and developed an early love for sports- baseball, basketball, golf, football, wrestling- you name it, he has always valued being active and moving.

After working in corporate America in Columbus, Ohio for a few years, he realized he needed something more fulfilling in his life, something that would make him excited to get up in the morning, instead of dreading each day to come. During this time, he was trying out different gyms in the Columbus area when he came across a special place called Beyond Limits Training, and that’s when things changed.  He became immersed in a culture focused on strength training and self betterment and  wanted to be a part of the group helping facilitate that change. Improvement upon strength and movement quality, along with a little change of perspective.

Fast forward several years, as he transitioned from cubicle to gym, C.KingStrength was born. Cody always held a great interest in nutrition, and his natural empathy coupled with logic and positive style seemed like a natural fit for the Shebnation® team and he joined us in February of 2020. His natural ability to lead with both kindness and chill endears him to clients and friends alike.

Ashley Smith/Coach

Ash has been involved with Shebnation® since the Spring of 2019. Originally she started as a powerlifting client and wanted to make improvements to her strength, physique, understand her nutritional needs, and repair unhealthy relationships she had with food. Her dedication, willingness and interest in both nutrition and sports science yielded successful results with various cycles of cutting, bulking and maintenance phases. As their relationship developed, she expressed her passion about breaking into nutrition coaching. In 2020, she started working behind the scenes for Shebnation® and has been a coach since January 2021, working with both lifestyle clients and performance focused athletes.

Ash enjoys working with both athletes and lifestyle clients because she can easily relate having done both. She had played soccer at a competitive level her entire life until burning out, and then fell into a cycle we often see for athletes without the proper tools: mis-managed nutrition, abrupt inactivity, poor sleeping habits, binge drinking and bouts of depression. After suffering an injury from running, she was introduced to lifting and felt a physical connection to the body that she had missed since ending her soccer career. Her approach is always to find what is sustainable and enjoyable, yet yields results for each of her clients on an individual level.

Ash graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2010 with BFA in Two-Dimensional Studies, focusing in Printmaking and Photography. In 2019 she received her Cosmetology License and is a practicing full-time hair stylist in addition to nutrition coaching. She is now pursuing competitive bodybuilding with plans to step on stage as a wellness competitor and obtain her NASM-CPT certification.
